Montrésor, a lovely village on the banks of the Indre, is one of the smallest towns of the Touraine region, surfacing less than 1 km².
That didn’t hold the village back from getting on the list of the most beautiful villages of France. In this picturesque village with white tufa limestone walls and half-timbered houses, you’ll also find half troglodytic houses and a wealthy medieval heritage. The village of Montrésor is mainly renowned for its castle, that was built between the 11th and 14th centuries. The village has many more assets, like the collegiate church of Saint-Jean Baptiste and the covered market. From the top of the castle, you’ll have a wonderful view on Loches and Montrésor.
